Frequently Asked Questions

-
I'm excited about hiring a Nanny Canine pet nanny for my dog, cat, bird, or fish.
So, how do I secure your services?
Simple. Just call Nanny Canine at 946-2669 (94-Nanny), or email us at vrm@nannycanine.com to request a meet ‘n greet with Nanny Canine. Your personal nanny will come to your home, meet you and your pet(s), learn about your pets' likes and 'pet peeves', and then complete a Service Agreement and secure payment. Services begin thereafter! Daily NannyNotes—a diary of all the fun things your pet and his/her nanny did during your absence—will be provided for your reading pleasure upon your return home.
-
Does Nanny Canine come to my home? Or, do I drop-off my dog, cat, bird, or fish at a facility?
Yes! Nanny Canine comes to your home. No. You do not drop-off your pet at a facility. The beauty of Nanny Canine is that our services save you valuable time. That includes travel time to/from a remote location. Our nannies care for your pets' needs where your pets are most relaxed, happy, and comfortable…in your home.
-
I'm accustomed to having a babysitter, lawn care professional and/or housekeeper in my home. Is Nanny Canine a safe, reliable service provider?
Yes! In fact, our adult-only pet nannies are bonded and insured and belong to the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS) and Pet Sitters International (PSI). We conduct background checks on our staff, and provide 12-hours of intensive pet care training to each of our pet nannies. We also ensure your pets' health and safety by requiring each of our pet nannies to participate in a 2½ hour American Red Cross Pet First Aid Course. Nanny Canine has offices serving the Spokane Area an the Tri-Cities. At the helm of Nanny Canine is principal & chief Min-Pin Veronica Alford-McGlothan. Born in Idaho, this Washington State native is a proud Washington State University alum.
-
Why should I select Nanny Canine over kennel boarding?
Simply put…we provide an unparalleled pet care experience that you and your pets cannot receive anywhere else! Our courteous, professional pet nannies are pet parents themselves. They love to do the "little extras" that you and your pets appreciate. Our fees reflect the individual attention your pets receive, and care that only a nanny who knows pets, can provide. You'll find that our services and personal attention to your pets' needs are indeed worth it!
-
Does Nanny Canine have pet health stipulations before rendering any of its services?
Yes! When your pet nanny meets with you and your pet, please have these
items ready to share: (1) Proof of spaying (females) and neutering (males),
(2) proof of current canine vaccinations—Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella—and
feline vaccinations—Rabies, VRCP, and FELV, and (3) current flea and tick
treatments are required of all our furry clients. Nanny Canine realizes
that you are very busy and may not have the time to take your pets to
the veterinarian to have these procedures performed. But remember! We offer Pet Errand Services and Pet Taxiing. Save yourself the headache and stress of leaving work early.

I have two dogs, three cats, a bird, two fish, and a turtle. Does Nanny Canine charge according to the number of pets, or is there a flat fee for services rendered?
With the exception of Pet Errands and Pet Taxiing, our services are priced on a per visit charge for up to 2 pets and according to the amount of time you wish for us to spend with your pets. Please add $2.00 to the service fees quoted on this Web site for each additional pet or fish bowl, over our 2 pet minimum.

What are the acceptable forms of payment for services? And, is it okay to tip my nanny?
Nanny Canine prefers checks, but cash payments are fine too. And yes…tips
are welcomed and appreciated and will be distributed to your pet nanny
in a timely fashion.
